PCB maker SAYFU and Knowledge Center which are sponsored by The China government have pointed out that the global PCB industry decline to continue in 2009
Industrial Economics and Knowledge Center (IEK) remarked global PCB production value in 2008 at US$43.1 billion, fallen 2.7% from 2007, and sales of Taiwan PCB manufactures in November declined to record low. Polaris Financial forecasts Taiwan PCB sales had another 15-20% decline in December, and dropped to 30-50% consequently in the fourth quarter of 2008.
Industrial Economics and Knowledge Center forecasts that the total production value of global PCB in 2009 will be US$41.35 billion, fall 4.06% from 2008, and it will not get back until 2010.
Tripod is not also optimistic in 2009 for lack of new applications and falling PCB average selling prices in the market. Tripod's use rate decreased 70% in the fourth quarter of 2008 and remains low this month.
