Expect to the PCB industry in 2009, as notebook computers (NB) and smart phones remain growth, it is widely believed that there is still continuous growth of NB boards and FPC
As the price of NB declines year after year, and increasing demand of PC mobility, trend of NB instead of desktop computers are becoming evident. A Taiwan broker expected that the global NB shipments will be 1.31 million units in 2009, compared with 2008 growth of 3.7%, and the needs of low-priced NB, it is estimated that the overall NB shipments to reach 155 million units, annual growth rate of 12.58%. This is a rare growth projections recently, so that NB board manufacturers do not have too much worries about this. In 2008 the total volume global market increase 63% by 70%, making NB board to become oligopoly markets, there will be almost impossible for new entrants .
In addition, it is thought that the overall demand of mobile phone will show a recession in 2009, but a high usage rate for the FPC smart phone, it estimated the shipments will reach 186 million, the annual growth rate is still as high as 18.1%, has become the largest momentum of FPC industry in 2009. as a complete unit, as the result of intense competition, many second-line FPC factories closed down, FPC industry is conducive to stability and public order.
